I switched from DirecTV to Dish in August. I was given a three month trial of HBO, etc. They said to contact them before the three months were up to cancel, so I wouldn't be charged for these channels. I contacted them in October via online chat. She said it was cancelled and I wouldn't be charged. She didn't cancel anything.
I didn't notice the charges right away because I pay automatically. This week I noticed that I had been charged $60 a month for this. I contacted someone else via chat today. He said he could only credit me for the most recent month, but that an account specialist could do better. He gave me a number to call. For DirecTV. Seriously.
I later called the correct number and spoke to an account specialist. Same crummy "offer". Had him talk to his supervisor. Supervisor said he could only do better if I could send them the transcript of the original chat. One problem: DISH doesn't send you transcripts of these chats. So I'm out $120 because of their lousy customer service.
I always thought DirecTV was bad, but now I have a better perspective. Guess I'll be switching back to DirecTV once my contract is up. Part of the reason I switched was for the 4K service that they advertised so loudly, but which doesn't exist in my area. No wonder DISH is Number 2.
I don't remember any of the agents' names, and I have no idea what anyone's operator ID is. I would PM you but I have already wasted too much time on this already. If your company had any desire to make this right, they would have done so already.
