I just check mine and NBC is still there also NBC sports... I pay $10.00 for locals not 180.00
This is ridiculous that DISH removed NBC and it doesn't look like it's coming back either. That's the primary channel we watch. DISH isn't cheap either and offers no credits for loss of a local channel. They expect us to continue to pay the same high rates when they take away a primary channel and in order to cancel to go with any other company that offers NBC, its $180 fee. I had been pretty pleased with dish minus the high price until they removed NBC, clearly customer satisfaction is not a high priority only money by what I have read.
The poster was speaking of the early termination fee they would have to pay in order to switch to another provider just to get out of Dish and on to another provider that has it.
We lost the local NBC and ABC affiliates due to a fee dispute between DISH and Quincy Media which owns both affiliates. This has gone on for a week, and neither side seems interested in getting this resolved for the benefit of their customers. No warning was provided by the Quincy Media, they just shut off access to DISH. DISH is no help either, and I asked our bill be reduced to reflect the loss of two major network stations. They would only offer $5, which just is not enough.
I agree I was offered the $5 too but hasn't showed up yet Since they charge $12 for 6 channels And 3 are removed it should be $6 since half the channels are removed. Dish can provide valuable veiwer information to these channels like how many people are watching so they can raise the rates for commercials but all companies are getting too greedy they want both. Put up an antenna and drop the locals.
The goverment should get involved and make them free channels since the broadcast free for OTA we should get the same free cost. If dish was smart they would start calling all the places that have commercials on these channels and tell them to ask for discounts and refunds due to all the people who aren't getting the channel. This would force them to ;lower the price. If they are paying a price for so many customers to see their commercial dish could give a large number of people who they are paying for to see the commercial and aren't
