Well, with this latest Hearst thing, you've allowed ABC to no longer be viewable for my wife. I think you broke the camel's back with this one...

How do we determine how much it will cost to get out of our contract?

Just out of curiosity, what options are you looking at? The reason I'm asking is, as was posted in another thread, Hearst just pulled this same trick with DirecTV a couple months ago. For some entertaining (and possibly enlightening) reading, put "Hearst blackout" into your favorite search engine. For even more fun, put the name of a retransmitter in separate quotes after that, such as Time Warner, Comcast, or any other you like.

I am fully aware of the issues with DTV as well, we do have a local cable provider that DOES have WMUR (The only news channel in NH) and DOES have Comcast Sports Network (The Home of the Celtics).

I love dish, I love the quality of dish, but you've now taken away our only news channel in NH. I've put up with not having the celtics, but now this has gotten ridiculous. On both parts, Hearst and dish.

Since this station is critical, it's probably worth checking when their current contract ends at the local cable co. You probably don't have to worry about this station being blacked out on DTV for another 10 months or so, but some other company could be due at any time.
