terry614 ours did the same thing. Bedroom updated (secondary port) randomly on Sunday. Monday my husband went on the roof of the RV, and switched the primary and secondary port cables (it was easier than moving the boxes around for us). We forced a download on the living room receiver. Sure enough it updated. He went back up, switched the cables back and now we have U802 update on both receivers. Tech told us we woud have to take the receivers to Camping World or a DISH retailer get it to update. We called two Camping Worlds (both 2 hours away) and they said they have no way of updating receiver for us. The two DISH retailers they gave us numbers for, one was disconnected and the second one is no longer a DISH retailer and both of those were over 2 hours away. So needless to say we are happy we were able to figure it out. I cringe every morning turning the tv on. Afraid another update will happen.
Anyone notice that DISH tech support is conspicuously absent from any successful recovery methodology?
As I understand this setup on my rv , the living room Wally is in the front of rv with Wally box next to the on/off switch for the Sattelite Dish. Last evening I put the tv on channel to 110 then hit the power switch on the Wally. The tv screen shut down and displayed the dish screen with the controller . Within a few minutes it showed the guide loading at 25%. I went in the house and when I checked this morning I hit the select switch and it opened up on channel 206 in hd. Then I hit menu, menu and checked the software and it is still 801. The guide is only loaded out a couple of hours. However I have continued to recieve an HD signal for about 30 minutes.
But no upgrade to 802!
i had taken the second box out of the bedroom. If I understand you switched the bedroom to the primary cable from the living room to the bedroom and we’re able to download 802?
Just got off the phone with DISH Tech Support (again, call # too many), and they advised to (in the diagnostic screen) select Dish, then select Satellite and manually set it to 119, then select Transponder and manually set to 19. Then press Power Button on the receiver once, and wait 30 minutes or so. Don't know if this works, still in waiting period, but may be worth a try.
I thought I'd post this here since Dish TS apparently not interested in communicating potential solutions.
Hey KandM-18, can you please meet me in a private message so we can take a closer look at what's going on with your local channels?
I have a Winnebago Journey with 2 Wally boxes connected to a Wingard T4 in-motion satellite mounted on the roof. I am experiencing the same problem. Today I was able to start the manual software update process several times but it would never complete. It would freeze at either 80% complete or 72% complete or other points. I was on the phone with Tiana today and she tried to help me but said there are still several customers with the same problem. I did receive a $20 credit on my bill although I don't think that is enough for the trouble we are all experiencing. I left my boxes in standby for over two hours and still no luck. I don't have another satellite I can use for the download so I am stuck for now. I have tried leaving it on channel 105 as Tiana suggested but that didn't help. I am wondering if it doesn't complete because of the original software issue that it loses signal. I am in Oregon if that makes any difference. Any other suggestions out there?
