Packages are not for all Customers

Dish could be the best satellite provider, if they would only give their customers what they really need - just the channels they want. Why does a customer have to pay for a minimum of 50 channels? I only want 6 channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, DIY, FYI and Lifetime). But, I have to pay for the Base Package of 50 channels and I still don't get Lifetime. And, the majority of those 50 channels are sports and porn. In order to get Lifetime, theI would have to pay for the American Package of 200 channels. When the Flexpack was announced, I thought - great, they are finally going to allow us to pick the channels we want. But, no. In the Flexpack you still have to pay for 50 channels and if it does not have the channels you want you have to add more. And, the Flexpack does not have FYI and you cannot add it. So, again, Dish could be the best provider if only they would allow the customer to get and pay for the channels they want. Just common sense!!! Dish - are you listening???

Channel owners often require that certain channels be included with others, that isn't something Dish can control. You will never get every channel you want without paying extra for it, that's just not an option for any provider.

The flex pack is for CUSTOMERS who can be FLEXible. If you pick a couple of fairly obscure channels from AT200 and say that's the baseline, there's a good chance Flex won't work for you. For that situation, you'll need to hunt around and see what you can make work. For example Sling (a Dish service over the internet) with the lifestyle extra pack may be what you want.
