Re: Missing or wrong Icons

DISH Employee
Dish is just finishing a transition to a new data source for programming content, including:
Channel and programming information, EPG descriptions, Tile artwork and DVR identifiers (such as timers).

During this transition, customers may encounter the following known issues: Guide and info screen descriptions- e.g. Foreign language descriptions for English programming- e.g. Wrong, Incomplete, or missing descriptions, Ratings- e.g. Incorrect or missing ratings for programs, which can affect parental controls, Recordings and Timers, e.g. Missing recordings, timers not firing, or duplicate recordings, Wrong or missing tile artwork (icons) e.g. Poorly sized picture or incorrect artwork on program tiles, Search- e.g. Wrong, unexpected, or no results from searching, Auto-Suggest- e.g. No results or unrelated search suggestions, DISH Anywhere- Many of these known issues extend to DISH Anywhere content. We hope to have this transition completed in the near future.

When this transition is complete will all these guide and icon issues be fixed on existing timers and future timers. It is very frustrating to have a timer not record because of an issue with the guide.

Once it's been fixed it should correct your current and future timers.

Any timeline on when that will be?

Why would dish select to not fully complete the implementation prior to releasing to the public? But I guess this seems to be the norm around dish when it comes to implementations.

New program descriptions are terrible!!!

What's going on with program discriptions lately? They used to be pretty good but now they start wit a bunch of flowery fluff and have very abreviated real info. Actors names are now limited to non existent also. You need to fire whoever is in charge of writing descriptions now as it's a downgrade from what it was.

Dish has switched providers for Guide data, numerous posts complaining about it - not much we can do.

This is a known issue. Our Tech Ops team will prioritize fixes based on the feedback they receive. In order to provide the best possible customer experience, feedback is absolutely necessary. By reporting the issues, our engineering team and Technical Operations team can work together to find the correct resolution.Specific reports like this really help to resolve the problem as quickly as possible, so thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The timeliness of resolution depends on what the issue is and the resolution needed. We cannot guarantee a time by which this issue will be resolved.

This makes ZERO sense. So, the Tech Ops team KNOWS it's an issue, but their attitude is basically "if no one complains about it, then we won't provide a fix".

Is this seriously how dish works when it comes to issue resolution?

The reports sent to these tech teams that do the software dont see any of the reports supposedly reported here.

Up unitl about 2 weeks ago when I called DISH about these they had ZERO tickets about any of this in system that the TECH's that do that software actual looked at and are aware of other then the issue with Random image being used for thumbnail with name of the show written on it.

1 way are another either green (reps) here are lying or the phone tech was lying or they truly think what reporting is getting reported, or left and right hand are obvious to what the other is doing and head doing it own thing too

This what happen when Dish refuses to have the tech put out change log/known issues for updates. mass confusion on all ends and no one truely know what is and isnt an issue. Change log/know issue is not something that need to kept secret, and not doing one just goes to show dish dont want people know about all the issue system and see how long it take them to work it out. cause it make them look bad. but they make them self look worse by not doing so.
