Thanks Chad for really explaining. I'm just glad that during the Olympics there isn't any 'new' programming on anyway. Hope Lockwood gets their sh*t together. Anyway, glad I have my fall back sources like Hulu, etc. Really discovering lots of good new stuff on Netflix these days, some in UHD HD!
KTEN's latest info
We continue to get calls and emails from you, our viewers, and we are responding to each and every individual who contacts us.
Here is a further update on our situation:
It has been two weeks since we made a very reasonable and fair offer to DISH to resolve the blackout. We still have not received a written offer back from DISH.
It is interesting that DISH earlier this week reported revenue for the 4th quarter of 2017 - $3.48 BILLION. DISH also just announced that it will realize a $1.2 BILLION benefit from the new tax law reforms. Yes, that’s right, DISH can benefit from taxpayers to the tune of $1.2 BILLION, but can’t come to a deal with family-owned KTEN NBC, ABC Texoma and The Texoma CW for carriage .
DISH is the exception in our company’s experience with these matters. We have been successful in maintaining carriage with every other provider in the market. That’s worth repeating: We have never had a carriage disruption, at any time, with any other provider but DISH.
We have long-term deals with every other cable and satellite provider, and our signal is available over the air with an antenna. Although DISH has been telling you, their paying customers, for weeks that a deal is close – the truth is, they aren’t even trying.
We’d like to thank you again for your continued loyalty and support.
DISH's only info, from DISHPROMISE
We are currently experiencing a dispute with Lockwood Broadcasting and your programming is impacted by these negotiations.
Lockwood Broadcasting is demanding an unreasonable rate increase, which is more than two times what we currently pay for their channels. DISH offered to match the rates paid by all other pay-TV providers; Lockwood Broadcasting refused this offer. The fact is, only Lockwood Broadcasting can choose to remove their content from DISH customers. DISH offered to extend the contract so viewers would not be impacted but Lockwood Broadcasting refused.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tending to believe the party giving the updates over the party saying nothing.
Ask yourself. Why is it that Lockwood is the only one giving any updates. If Dish is actually responding to their offers why would they not want their suscribers to know. Again, I am going to be more accepting of the negotiating party that is providing at least some information.
Please don't believe ANYTHING Dish tells you. They are the only TV provider where losing your local channels happens on a regular basis. I've had plenty of experience with them in more than one city. It's best to switch to DirecTV and be done with them. That's what I'll be doing soon. Three of my five local channels have been unavailable to me for four months now. This is ridiculous and absurd. Please consider yourself warned.
Hi PamFogt55. Channel negotiations are a frustrating part of the pay-TV world and have an effect on all providers. We know that they can take quite a toll on your overall experience and if there's anything I can do to help you out, feel free to send me a Private Message with the phone number and 4 digit PIN on your account and we can see what options are available.
the phone is 2606150475, pin 5337. I just want to know if i should cancel dish and go with hulu yo get NBC and ABC. What other options do I have? I paid for an ESPN subscription to watch a football game on ABC. That is bullshkit@
