Guaranteed pricing not guaranteed

I can't even tell you how many years ago i was given a $10 HBO price for "as long as I maintain my account" from an account specialist to keep me as a customer.   I can see the $10 price as far back as 2 years ago and know it was probably closer to 5 years.

Today i get an email saying my Promotional Period is ending for HBO.   I never had a promotional period.  Even on my bill it states "Special Pricing".  Called customer service and was told regardless of what i was told years ago the price is going up.  So much for promises to loyal customers!  Another example of how Dish will nickle and dime you to get an extra couple of dollars from you.

Exact same situation here. I got $5 off my bill for 3 months like that’s supposed to make it better. The price is only a small issue to me. It’s the being lied to that’s so frustrating. I guess there’s always other providers.

That's a little different.  That's their typically 3 or 6 month promotion.  I've had this special price on HBO for many years.   Like you say it's only $5 per month but they always seem to get in several $5 increases per year.   Over time it adds up.

Sorry my post wasn’t very clear. I’ve had that special $10 hbo price for over 2 years. The $5 off for 3 months is what they offered me when I complained about losing the special price.

This is because TW hBO is no more. The offer is no longer available, since ATT purchased Time Warner. “Special Pricing” is a promotion.

Not relevant.  The $10 pricing was a promise made by Dish, not whoever owns hbo.  Dish needs to stand behind their promises and commitments

Same issue here. I JUST got off the phone with a rep who didn't seem to care in the least that DISH PROMISED me that the price was NOT a promotional price and it would NEVER go up. I've had the $10 HBO for almost 4yrs now and I got the same email this morning. And of course when you try to leave a feedback or go to chat, neither one works. You have to leave your feedback on this forum and I'm guessing either NO ONE from DISH reads it or might read it and doesn't care. She was more than happy to either disconnect my HBO or cancel DISH altogether.

I defiantly understand that seeing an increase in programming you love can be frustrating. Due to the recent changes in ownership with HBO we can no longer offer the extended $10 pricing. I would be glad to review your account and see what other offers may be available. Please send me a private message with the phone number and 4 digit security code and myself or one of our social media reps will get back to you.

Again the change in ownership of HBO has nothing to do with this discussion.  It was Dish that made the committment to provide HBO at $10 for as long as I have my account and Dish can still honor that commitment.  Dish is simply using the change in ownership excuse for getting out of promises made to their customers.

Our promotions are subject to change. At this time, we are no longer able to provide HBO at the discounted price of $10. That programming will roll to the normal price of $15.
