2 hours is too long! When I pause the tv for up to 45 minutes I would like the screen to either go black or a screen saver. My tv now has burned in images because I frequently pause the tv. Prior to Dish I had Uverse which was amazing, wish I never left.
Screen burn-in?! I haven't seen that issue on TVs for quite some time. Are you using a tube type TV? My 55" is 7-8 years old. My 42" is about eleven. Neither have burn in and I'll pause stuff and not come back for an hour or more.
If your TV is susceptible to burn-in, when you press the pause button and you think you might be away for more than a few minutes, just press the "TV" power button as well.
I also have a plasma TV. I had DirecTV for 12 years and there was a screen saver, in fact just before I switched to Dish, DirecTV created a new screen saver that had lovely panorama landscapes. How much effort would it take for Dish to create such a thing, and why don’t they?
Hi there, JDKinOK! Currently, we do have the Standby Screen with the DISH tips on our Hopper. We are always looking for ways to create an even better DISH experience. We can certainly look into a screensaver option. We appreciate your feedback and all ideas are welcomed!
I too have an OLED TV and having just left DirecTV find it hard to believe that Dish doesn’t have one.
With modern TV’s like OLED, you will destroy your screen without a screen saver.
If I forget to turn off the TV if I’m going to pause for any length of time, I would end up destroying my $2500 TV.
