good post...just want to add a couple of things to the list...I used both these

1. manual timers have been removed

2. 1/4 slow play speed has been removed

Same here. It's now been almost 2 months & nothing has changed. I've been loyal for about 15 years or more & years ago I took so much pride in Dish Network that I worked as a DN installer. Now, unfortunately, I am also considering switching. I am also very displeased with Dish satellite internet but that is a completely different issue.

Sorry to see that so many others are in the same predicament.  Been with Dish a long time...but strongly considering swithcing after this fiasco!

How do u do a partial reset o the unit

To do a partial reset, press the Sys Info button on the front of the box and go to Tools > Reset To Factory Defaults > Partial Reset. This will reset all files except for the DVR/Timer settings. Please be sure not to do a Master Reset accidentally -- this will clear your DVR and timers!

I experience the same issues, and the DVR recordings no longer have names on them, and the now have a thin blue line to indicate your selection... you can't see it.

kfagan42, I hate to hear you are having this issues. I just have a few clarification questions. Have you tried to reset the Hopper from the power outlet for 15 seconds and plug back in?

I'm having the same problems, ever since their big upgrade!  Also the text labels are gone from the recordings in the Hopper, and now there's a imperceptible blue line around the selection! Maybe time to upgrade the box.
