If possible, how does one record all of a program if it has already started?
For example, the TV and Hopper3 have been on for some time. You've just watched a pre-recorded program, deleted it, and are now viewing live TV. Upon going to live TV you find that you'd like to record the program now being shown in its entirity but that it started some time ago. No other programs are scheduled to be recorded at this time and the Hopper 3 is set to the same channel that it was on when the TV was turned on, and remained there while watching the pre-recorded program.
I think that at one time I could hit the back-arrow to rewind the live program in progress to its beginning and then hit record (single diamond button) and the currently showing program would be recorded from that point.
TIA

Thanks for your response.
So, even though there is up to an hour's worth of broadcast in the buffer, one cannot access any part of it before the moment the live feed was started?
OK. I "Acccepted" as a solution but consider this to be a design flaw. Sure would be nice if Dish could incorporate TiVo functionality.
Yes, Dish DRV'ing is frustrating. As a 23 year subscriber to DirecTV, I was familiar with their DVR's but their "house" DVR was not all that intuitive. We had TiVo enabled DVR's from their inception and they worked extremely well. DirecTV dropped the TiVo DVR from the billing system in the transition to ATT. They could not articulate a plan to get them back and so we switched to Dish. All, 100%, of our TV veiwing is pre-recorded so a subscription without DVR capability is a non-starter for us. So, here we are. It's not a simple matter for us to switch so we will be with Dish for the forseeable future. Streaming is not practical for us. TV is becoming a less and less important part of our daily lives.
