Hopper 3 indicator light

I am a new Dish customer with a Hopper 3 receiver (installed yesterday). The Dish remote (54) was correctly set up to control the receiver, my TV and the audio receiver. The remote works fine; pressing the power button turns on the entire system, and all other remote buttons work perfectly while watching TV. However, when we hit the power button on the remote to turn everything off, the TV and audio receiver turn off but the Dish receivers green light stays on for a few minutes, usually 3-5. Is this normal? Why does it do this? Just wondering.

It's 5 minutes. The 54.0 remote countdowns the receiver on a 5 minute countdown by design. If you turn just your tv back on, you'll see a countdown on the screen. It is by design, likely in case someone accidentally pressed the power button, this way they do not lose their buffer.

Thanks for the quick response. Glad to know that's just how it's designed to work and not something wrong with the receiver or remote setup. No more worrying about that!
