Every couple of days around 8am the hopper freezes and dumps. I happened to be still in bed where hopper 3 is located and caught it saying it was running a test on the EHD. Said it would be done in 40 min and then would reset. All the joeys were saying searching for hopper. What is going on? Shouldnt this be done when system reboots (set for midnight on my hopper) to do updates etc and not during main viewing hrs?
Hmm that does seem to be unusual behavior DrChaos, can you confirm the exact message the screen displayed? Also there would traditionally be a three-four digit error code along with the message. That info should also help narrow down exactly what the Hopper is doing.
As for the Joeys, that is expected behavior in this sort of scenario. They basically work through the Hopper, so if the Hopper is running diagnostics it can't provide them with the data they need to function normally. Out of curiousity, do you have any timers, recordings, etc set up on your Hopper between say 11pm and 6am?
