You took function away from me. I'm NEVER going to enable the voice when it sends my every search of what I want to watch off to google or whereever. To be blunt, I'm pissed that you removed function from something that I was already paying for. Google privacy my ****, change it to let me decline the terms and give me back my old voice search.
Is anyone at Dish listening, do you even care Dish? You have screwed up one of the best features of Dish and simply ignor every comment, bury your head in the sand and hope we all go away. This is a perfect example of corporate arrogance that will ultimately destroy your brand! Remember New Coke, they are still living with that fiasco 30 years later. Don't be new Coke, be strong, dump Google, give us back working voice controls and we lemmings will forget all about your misdeeds!
So, I filed a BBB comlaint against Dish for this issue with the voice remote and the constant issue of taking channels away everytime they go into negotiation. I received a call from Dish today regarding this and he basically told me I'm screwed! Offered me NOTHING. Dish doesn't care about us as subscribers any more like they did years ago when Charlie started the company.
I encourage all of you to file a BBB claim. It's easy to do. All of the unresolved claims will affect their BBB rating and influence future subscribers. It's time for us to quit taking the BS and do something about it.
Google Assistant is an evasion of your privacy..Don't let Dish tell you otherwise, as they will try! Google Assistant collects data; i.e. channels you watch, your location, length of time you spend watching programing etc and any browswing or shopping you do via your internet connecton to Hopper. Users will be targeted with garpage adds and Google will use yoiur data info to their best interest.. I am very upset that dish took a search funtion away that was part of my service which i was paying for, and they have no plans to reimburse my monthhly for this loss.. As soon as my contract expries with Dish, I will be shoping for another TV source provider.. Many local TV companies are now overing their version of Voice Search without evasion of privacy isues.. Dish is making lots of $$ with this change via their partnership with Google, as Google pays highly for the data they are extracting from most 'unware' Dish Viewers.. All i have to say,, be carefull Dish Viewsers.. I would not activafte this search function... The minute you accept the Google Terms of servcice, you bit onto their hook.. Just Don't do it! And voice your concern to Dish... Remimber, DO NO LET DISH TELL YOU YOUR DATA IS PRIVATE.. Read Google Terms of servie and you will learn otherwise
After a long conversation with an account specialist (retention) I have realized Dish does not give a flying duck about privicy or it's customers. They have brain washed their people into thinking that Google is a warm fuzzy company and would never sell/steal you data. I called the corparate legal office for Dish to get their address of service so some hot shot trail lawyer can intitnate a class action lawsuit against them for violating their own T.O.S.
Everyone should be writing the CEO and telling them how they feel, or better, just cancel you account. I even ask the AS person why they would risk loosing a customer after 18 years, and he responded "we aill not miss you"...WOW
Amen. example. I used to be able to say "michigan state" and up comes all programs featuring my college alma matter. But if I try that now I get a voice saying "michigan state university is a university in east lansing michigan" Really? I didn't know that.
@davehul I definitely see the frustration on that. Just so you are aware, any time you say "watch" in front of a search it will tell google voice you want dish network results prioritized. So saying "watch michigan state" should get you better results.
