Closed caption won't go away after programming ends

I have a Hopper and like to use closed captioning. When the program goes to a commercial, the captioning from the program stays on the screen through the commercial. Sometimes stays on the screen through 2 commercials. I have reset the box, changed the captioning service (tried 0 and 1) but nothing works. This happens on ALL channels. Any ideas???

The attached pics show the captioning on screen for 60 seconds after programing ended.

Judging by the fact that the CC is provided from the channel owner/programming owner, it is likely it is not being recognized by the commercial code switch for a little while. That’s not uncommon.

You know, sometimes I really enjoy seeing the TV program's last closed captions frozen during the commercials.  It's fun to see the captioned words with completely unrelated commercials.  For example, seeing a medication commercial with the last 4 words of the TV program captioned underneath.  Like "and then he died."  Hilarious.  Watch for it.  It's fun.
