Bluetooth speakers causing Joeys to lose connection

Just purchased a sound bar and bluetooth speakers.  Whenever we turn the bluetooth speakers on, all 3 of our Joeys connected to other tvs lose connection.  Once we turn the speakers off, they reconnect fine.  We've tried moving the transmitter for the speakers further away from the access point but can't move it too far because it has to be connected to the sound bar.  Any suggestions or did we just waste money on bluetooth speakers we can't use?

Sorry to hear about this Snoopy!  It sounds like you are using mostly Wifi Joeys?  Is the Hopper and Wifi Joey Access point in the same room as the bluetooth speakers?  Did moving the speaker transmitter have any effect?

There may be some options to sort of work around this issue but a just little more info first can go a long way.

Yes, the Joeys are all Wifi.  The hopper and access points are in the same room as the speakers.  Moving it didn't have any effect but we couldn't move it too far away because of the cord length.

Okay, thanks for that additional information!

There are a couple things you can try, assuming the bluetooth transmitter for the speaker really is causing the issues.  The best option is to probably relocate the Wifi Joey Access point.  The way this is normally done is our technicians install a device called a Hopper Broadband (sometimes they say Internet) Connector.  This can allow the Access Point to be in a different room from the Hopper.

Before really trying to get something like that done I would try to verify moving the speaker will help.  Maybe try moving it into the room with one of the Wifi Joeys? If it is the transmitting the issue should goe away, or only apply to that specific Wifi Joey instead of all of them.
