I have found if you do not give the Echo any Dish commands, other than channel change, for an hour or more, it will not respond to any other commands, such as pause, resume, skip forward or rewind. However, the solution is to add an unpublished command. For example instead of saying pause or resume say "Pause Dish" or "Resume Dish". For skipping forward say "skip the Dish forward(however many minutes you want up to 3). Do the same for rewind. Don't forget to say the trigger word Alexa or Echo whichever you are set for. You only have to do this once then it will accept commands without the extra reference to Dish, unless you go for an hour or more without using it. Try it and see if it works. It works for me, however, I have no Joey.
