I currently have a 622 receiver with a 1000.4 WA dish setup. No problems with programming/reception. Current setup works fine, except hard drive is starting to fail on the 622.
So I purchased a 722K receiver to replace the 622. Went through the power up and software update OK, but required me to call customer support to activate it. The service rep told me I had to get an installer out to activate the new receiver.
Why do I need to pay for a tech visit? Shouldn't this be a straight swap?
